I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as well as a member of the Kentucky Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I have a Master's degree in Psychology from Spalding University and have specialized in relationships and sexuality over my 30 years in the mental health field.
I began my career working with adolescents in a hospital setting. To pursue my interest in helping people develop a healthy sexual identity, I accepted a position at Planned Parenthood of Louisville as a sex educator and counselor. In that capacity, I enjoyed the opportunity to deliver hundreds of workshops and talks to schools, churches, and community groups on sexuality related topics. In the eight years prior to establishing my own practice, I conducted therapy with individuals, couples, and families at a private, non-profit mental health agency.
Since 1994, I have maintained a full-time private therapy practice. I have also consulted with family-owned businesses in partnership with the Family Business Center at the University of Louisville College of Business and Public Administration. I have served as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work and often speak about relationships and sexuality in radio/TV appearances and workshops. In 2009, I published Taking Sexy Back - a book on how adults of all ages can keep their sex drive alive.
